A new partnership between Run Talk Run and Gym+Coffee.

GYM+COFFEE x RUN TALK RUN

Following on from October which saw us facilitate a host of mental health focused walks, talks, events, activities and stories, we’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Run Talk Run (RTR), an organisation dedicated to increasing access to mental health support through running & walking peer support groups. This partnership is part of a longer term commitment to supporting our community’s mental health through movement which does a great job at facilitating those tougher conversations.

Jess Robson, the founder of RTR, formed the first running group in London when she was going through a particularly difficult time in 2017. Finding that traditional therapy sessions weren’t the right solution for her, she set about creating a safe space where people could come together to chat, run and support one another without judgement in a more relaxed environment compared to traditional running groups. And the rest, as they say, is history! From there, the RTR community has grown and grown to over 110+ different locations worldwide and we’re truly blown away by what Jess has created for people who need this type of support. No runner is left behind - the crew always finishes their jog together.

“To me and hopefully to my runners, community means I can turn up and be my full self - whatever that looks like.”

Jess Robson, founder of Run Talk Run, speaking to attendees at the +Pause Mental Health event.

As we embark on this new partnership together, we’re hoping to grow these communities even further by promoting exercise and a safe space to chat things over as a pathway to better mental health. This will include events such as monthly RTR sessions from our Clubhouses in Ireland and the UK with the opportunity to run more activities in the future around specific mental health awareness days. Further to that, we hope to share stories from some of RTR’s network of guest speakers. Loads of possibilities and we couldn’t be more excited to team up!!
